The Shrine of St. Anthony is pleased to offer many opportunities to our community for prayer, reflection, and diving deeper into the faith during the Lent season. In addition to Mass daily, we offer times for Adoration and Confession on Tuesdays and Saturdays. 

We invite all visitors to consider joining us for several unique opportunities for prayer and reflection during Lent, including:

Sunday Evening Solemn Vespers

Join us every Sunday in Lent for a quiet evening in the chapel. Holy hour begins at 4 p.m. followed by Solemn Sung Vespers at 5 p.m. This evening prayer service is part of the Liturgy of the Hours and fulfills Jesus' command to "pray always" (Luke 18:1). An opportunity for fellowship will follow. 

Stations of the Cross

The Shrine will host Stations of the Cross every Friday in Lent following Daily Mass (around 12:30 p.m.). Visitors should note the Outdoor Stations of the Cross are available for quiet prayer and reflection from dawn to dusk. 

Bible Study Retreats

Fr. Jude Winkler, OFM Conv., renowned author and Biblical scholar, is offering several Bible Study retreats during the Lenten season. He will dive into the Gospel of John and the Scriptures of Holy Week during several sessions. Please click here for more information and to pre-register.

Franciscan Pilgrimage of Hope

During this Jubilee Year, the Shrine will be offering several Franciscan Pilgrimage of Hope experiences. The first, Hope in New Beginnings, is during the Lenten season on Saturday, April 12 beginning at 10 a.m. Pilgrims are encouraged to pre-register here. 

Easter Egg Hunt

Every Spring on Holy Saturday the Shrine is pleased welcome families for our annual Easter Egg Hunt. The Easter Egg Hunt begins at 10:30 a.m., though visitors are encouraged to arrive early for greater ease in parking and to enjoy our beautiful grounds. Pizza is available for sale, or you may bring a picnic lunch to enjoy.
